Thursday October 8th 2009 saw the latest instalment of our very popular food master class ”Learn How to have a Champagne Party on a Buck’s Fizz Budget”. This event was sponsored by Avoca and run in conjunction with Food & Wine Magazine. It was held upstairs in the very popular Avoca restaurant of their Suffolk Street branch.

Guests quaffed champagne cocktails whist their pallets were tantalised by delicious Avoca cuisine. All of which flowed freely. Head Chef John Dunne showed guests Avoca’s culinary secrets on how to prepare and serve stunning food for guests – without breaking the bank. In his own stylish and immensely entertaining fashion Ross Golden Bannon, Editor of Food & Wine Magazine, showed guests how to prepare sublime cocktails. Once they’d been demonstrated, each dish or cocktail was then served to guests by the excellent Avoca staff. The gastronomic symphony between Ross and John was seamless.
Supporters left fully impressed – not only by the quality of both food and beverages – but by the efficiency and warmth of the staff at Avoca. The restaurant upstairs at Avoca on Suffolk Street is indeed a gem of a find for anyone in search of great food and service.
Money raised from this event will go to support our Askonefamily Helpline. Our helpline has risen in demand by 20% in the last two months due to an increasing need within Irish society for advice and support for one-parent families.
