One Parent Family Payment

The One-Parent Family Payment is the main payment made to men and women who have the main care of the children or are parenting alone. One Parent Family Payment can be paid to only one parent, it is a means-tested payment, and there are conditions for eligibility. One Parent Family Payment and Maintenance

One Parent Family payment can be paid at the same time as maintenance is being received from the second parent. This may affect the amount of the payment. In Irish law, both parents are legally obliged to provide for their children.
