Request for Tender for a LGBTI+ Consultant

One Family and Rainbows have secured funding from the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration & Youth to strengthen our knowledge, skills and policies in the area of LGBTI+ and diversity issues in order to provide more inclusive and expert services to our service users. As family support providers to families who are frequently in conflict due to separation, we are aware that normal challenges and issues for young people can become weaponised by their parents if not appropriately managed.

Specifically we would like to:

– have up to 85 staff members and volunteers trained on how to fully support parents with questioning or LGBTI+  young people. The training will be delivered online and recorded for re-use by new staff members. Ideally training would be a half-day session repeated a number of times. This should include a training needs analysis by the training consultant.

– Develop a Diversity Policy, or relevant parts thereof by a LGBTI+ expert, in conjunction with One Family and Rainbows staff to ensure we are inclusive in all aspects of our organisations.

– One Family will develop a Parenting Module in partnership with an appropriate consultant for use in group and 1:1 work with parents who have LGBTI+ children. We would like to have this available for use in an online module as well as in written form.

We would appreciate brief expressions of interest in this work with information on relevant expertise; any relevant qualifications of the individual and/or organization; a proposal of how and when the work will be delivered within 2021; and costs involved.

This document should be no more than two pages in length. We will revert for additional information after an initial screening process and interviews may be required.

Forward any queries and proposals to Karen Kiernan, One Family CEO on no later than 5pm on 7 September 2021.
