Children are mainly supported by their family and extended family. The experience of attending a support group, like Rainbows, with other children of similar age and loss experiences can help children realise and understand that they are “not the only one”. The relief and understanding that comes for children meeting others in the same situation can be so reassuring and supportive for a child.
This programme is delivered through weekly one-hour sessions in Smithfield, in central Dublin, and will be facilitated by members of the One Family Parenting team, trained with Rainbows Ireland.

Rainbows Groups are dependent on forming a group of 5+ children of similar age and needs (separation/bereavment). If you would like your child to attend a Rainbows Group in One Family, please get in touch here and one of our team will contact you to discuss potential dates.
The consent of both legal guardians is required for your child’s participation in this programme, and One Family will implement the Dual Consent Policy (HSE National Guidelines).
