Media Panel
One Family receives many requests from journalists looking to speak to people who are parenting alone, sharing parenting or separating. We are looking to build a media panel of parents who would be willing to speak about their story both openly and anonymously.
It is crucial to our work that the voices of people parenting alone in all different circumstances are heard. By telling your story you can contribute to change in Irish society, inform policy makers of issues directly affecting your family and feel empowered that you are making a difference to other parents who can not speak out for one reason or another.
If you were put forward for any interview, we would support you and advise you beforehand. You would never be in a position that you would feel uncomfortable with and can change your mind at any point.
To join this panel, you must be over 18 and not be a One Family client in the past six months. Please consider all members of your child/children’s family and whether this would be a positive thing for all involved.

One Family Advocacy Project
– Be part of the Change
One-parent families across Ireland deserve a voice and a say. Decision makers in the Dáil, our local councils, government departments and in Europe, should be more aware of the challenges and unique barriers you and your children face and work tirelessly to overcome. We know that your story can make a difference.
.
We hope to build community, advocacy skills and confidence that will empower you to speak up and share your experience and opinions, however you choose. This could be taking part in occasional surveys, meeting online or in-person with our other advocates or coming with us to speak directly to politicians.
