Policy, Research and Campaigns

One Family is at the forefront of policy and research on issues relevant to one-parent families, those sharing parenting and families in transition; and associated areas including education, housing, poverty, health, urban planning, and many more. We are regularly invited to participate in and contribute to expert panels at home and internationally.

We incorporate what our clients and members of our volunteer Policy Panel tell us into policy recommendations, research reports and campaigns.

Our Policy Panel is composed of 12-14 women and men, who are parenting alone or sharing parenting in a variety of situations all over the country, who volunteer some time between February to November. A new Panel is recruited every year. If becoming a Policy Panel member is of interest to you, you can apply when recruitment is open in January/February annually. The application links are published on our website home page and shared on our social media every year.

One Family’s Policy Service is part-funded by the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government  (now the Department of Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government) under the Scheme to Support National Organisations 2016-2019.
