Karen Kiernan | CEO
One Family’s CEO Karen Kiernan has been leading the organisation since 2001. As CEO, Karen is One Family’s spokesperson and represents issues affecting one-parent families and those experiencing unplanned pregnancies in national media, to Government Committees, in written policy submissions and in a wide range of advocacy meetings, conferences and other fora.

Margareth Petroli | Certified Data Protection Officer (CDPO) | Psychologist | Data & Evaluation Specialist
Margareth Petroli is a Certified Data Protection Officer (CDPO) accredited by the Compliance Institute in Ireland, with over a decade of experience supporting vulnerable populations through psychology, data analysis, and program development. Holding a Master’s in Psychological Science and a Higher Diploma in Psychology from UCD, she has led initiatives in GDPR compliance, Salesforce administration, and evidence-based parenting programs. Her expertise spans behavioral models, safeguarding, and research methodologies, with a strong foundation in tools like SPSS, SilverCloud, and Salesforce.
Finance
Charlotte Moore | Finance Manager
Charlotte Moore is a highly accomplished finance professional with over 20 years of experience spanning the nonprofit, education, banking, and corporate sectors. She is a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) and holds a BSc in Management–Business Studies from DIT Aungier Street. Currently serving as Finance Manager at One Family, Charlotte leads financial operations, ensures compliance with regulatory standards, and delivers comprehensive financial reporting and budget management.

Niamh Reynolds | Receptionist
Niamh has been working in One Family since 2020 as an administrator and on reception. She has over 7 year’s experience in administration. Niamh is one of the staff you will get through to when you contact One Family and who will welcome you when you visit our office.
Louise O’Neill | Receptionist/Administrator
Louise started working with One Family as an intern in 2004 and has worked on several teams throughout the years. She has worked in the Administration team since 2021. She provides administrative and resource support to One Family, along with being a front-facing staff member for service-users.

Mandy Byrne | Lead Infant Mental Health Family Support Worker
Mandy has a BA Honors Degree in Early Learning Care and Education and a Masters in Child Family and Community.
She brings over fifteen years of experience in the Early Years sector, with a strong background in community-based services. She spent twelve years working in an early years setting within the Travelling community, where she developed a deep understanding of culturally responsive and relationship-based practice. Mandy currently coordinates the Infant Mental Health (IMH) Network in the Dublin 7 and Dublin 1 areas, working to embed IMH principles across community and early intervention services. Her role focuses on supporting parents and strengthening early parent–child relationships, both through group work and individual supports using the PUP (Parenting Under Pressure Framework). Mandy is passionate about ensuring that every child’s emotional development is nurtured from the very beginning, and that parents feel empowered and supported in their caregiving role. Mandy’s work is imbedded in the IMH principles and she facilitates baby massage classes and runs a PEEP stay and play group. Mandy is also a Rainbows coordinator and facilitates groups in schools.
Danielle Crimin | Play Therapist
Danielle is a fully accredited Play and Creative Arts Therapist of PTIrl, she has a Postgraduate Diploma in Play Therapy from the Academy of Play and Creative Psychotherapy, Galway (NUIG).
Danielle has worked in schools as well as private practice. She uses a holistic integrative approach in her practice. Children are encouraged to use art, clay, movement, sand play therapy and imagination to express themselves in the therapy room. Danielle is passionate about supporting children on their healing journeys, integrating the past and moving forward into growth and self-discovery. Danielle believes that building a trusting relationship between therapist and client is paramount for the therapy to be effective.
Susan McCormack | Play Therapist
Susan McCormack is a fully accredited child and adolescent psychotherapist and play therapist. She holds full accreditation with both the Irish Association for Play Therapy and Psychotherapy (IAPTP) and the European Association of Integrative Psychotherapy (EAIP). Her career has spanned work in private practice, schools, hospitals, and multidisciplinary teams, allowing her to collaborate with teachers, social workers, and medical professionals to provide holistic and child-centred care. She has developed a deep understanding of child development, attachment, and neurodiversity and is particularly skilled in working with children facing anxiety, grief, behavioural difficulties, trauma, and emotional dysregulation.

Maura Leahy | Counselling Manager
Ciara Burns | Counsellor
Ciara has worked as a therapist in both a voluntary and professional capacity in a number of sectors including the HSE’s Primary Care Psychology Service, the Healthy Living Centre at DCU, and in the voluntary and charity sector. She has also worked with Ireland’s Programme Refugee Community and on a number of national helplines including Women’s Aid and One Family. She has an MSc in Psychotherapy from DCU’s 4-year practitioner programme, and a first class honours BSc in Psychology from the Open University, as well as a Diploma in Counselling Skills from NUI Maynooth. As an accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP), she adheres to their Professional Code of Ethics and engages in ongoing regular supervision and continuous professional development (CPD).
Jenny Corrigan | Counsellor
Jenny is a member of and adheres to the ethical guidelines of the Irish Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MIACP) She supports her practice by attending regular supervision and ongoing continuous professional development (CPD). Jenny has worked with One Family since Jan 2019, counselling and supporting individuals and couples with issues including crisis pregnancy, post-abortion, foetal anomaly diagnosis, parenting alone and co-parenting. With over 20years experience in the field of Counselling and Psychotherapy Jenny works within a person-centered framework, aiming to explore her client’s experience in a non-directive, non-judgmental way. Jenny is also a qualified Couples Therapist (Maynooth University) drawing on the works of Gottman, Egan and O’Leary to assist in meeting the needs of clients exploring challenges in their relationships. In addition to her work as a therapist Jenny is an accredited Clinical Supervisor (IACPS) working to support trainee and pre-accredited therapists in exploring and improving their experiences of working with clients.
Lisa Maguire | Counselling Support Worker
Lisa has over 24 years experience in the field of social care, having worked in residential care, youth services and the mental health and supported housing sectors. This work has been underpinned by a strong commitment to social justice, inclusivity and equality of opportunity. She holds first class honours in Social Studies in Social Care and an MA in Dramatherapy

Ann-Marie Coen | Helpline Worker
Ann-Marie has been working with One Family since 2022 and has extensive helpline experience having worked with a range of national not-for-profit organisations. She is also a qualified Integrative Psychotherapist and runs a private practice in Sligo and Dublin.
Programmes
Niamh Wynne |Programmes Manager
Have been working with One Family since 2017 and is Programmes Manager for our New Futures Employability programme. She is an accredited Psychotherapist with the IACP, with a background supporting individuals and their families in recovery from addiction. She believes that education and employment are powerful tools for economic independence and rebuilding confidence and that people can achieve many things when they are supported to believe in their own value and worth.
Muire McCarthy | Employability Support Worker
Muire has many years experience working and volunteering in education and community settings. Originally from an IT background she changed career after gaining a BA in Community & Family Studies and an MA in Dramatherapy as a mature student. Muire is passionate about using her experience, skills and qualifications to empower others to reach their full potential, and promote positive social change.
Rona Curtis | Employability Support Worker
Rona has a background in social care and has worked as a job coach. She is passionate about working alongside people to reach their full potential. Rona enjoys her role as an Employability Support Worker because she gets to see parents reach their goals and empower themselves. Rona has a Bachelor of Social Science degree and a Master of Arts in Gender Studies from UCD.
Derval Chambers-Petit | Course Facilitator
Derval is an accredited coach and certified trainer and brings over 20 years of combined experience in Human Resources, life and career coaching and training to her work with One Family. Her background includes working with people from a wide range of nationalities and life experiences helping them make meaningful changes in their lives and careers. Derval is committed to offering an inclusive and supportive learning environment to help One Family participants move forward in a way that feels empowering and sustainable.
Communications & Events
Vicky Masterson | Communications & Events Manager
Vicky has over fourteen years of experience in media and communications, working in RTÉ News and Current Affairs, the independent production sector and NGO communications. In the NGO sector, she has led communications campaigns advocating for abortion access, a public system of childcare, actions to end violence against women, an end to poverty and income inequality and campaigning for a Yes vote the 2024 family referendum.
She holds a 2.1 BA in Journalism from Dublin City University and is a proud alum of both the Washington Ireland Program and Access Program at DCU.
