How You Can Get Involved in Supporting One Family
As a voluntary organisation and registered charity One Family relies heavily on a range of funders and donors to deliver its services. One Family appreciates the commitment of all those who help us to fundraise through a range of activities.

Here’s how your donation can help…
€25 – allows One Family to serve a week of snacks and juice to children in our creche.
As one parent families are 4 times more likely to live in poverty, we provide healthy and nutritious snacks for the children in our care.
€100 – buys arts/ crafts supplies, toys and games for the children in our warm friendly creche.
Between 1996 and 2002, households headed by solo parents increased by nearly 25%. One Family offers a free, on-site childcare facility for parents participating in adult education and/ or parenting courses and for those attending our counselling service.
€500 – would support askonefamily, our National Helpline.
We offer friendly, non-judgemental information, as well as an opportunity to talk about family and parenting issues.
Because busy parents can’t always call us during helpline hours you can also email for support and information here.
€1000 – would be a major contribution towards the cost of our Summer Programme of family days out.
We have planned 7 special days to help alleviate the isolation of parenting alone. Trips to child-friendly venues include the Japanese Gardens, Glendalough and Dublin Zoo. All families, particularly those from new communities, appreciate the chance to visit places of cultural interest. Transportation, lunch and entry tickets are provided by One Family. This year, over 30 families will be treated to at least 1 wonderful family day out!
€2500 – would provide many families with the Christmas holiday spirit.Our Christmas Holiday celebration in Dublin Castle ensures every child receives a present from Santa in a festive setting of carol singing and merriment. We also provide toys to place under the tree at home for the many families who might otherwise be without. As Christmas can be a very vulnerable time for some, we increase the hours of our askonefamily helpline service for the month of December.
€5000 – sends 20 families on our Summer Holiday weekend break.
Some of our families could never afford a weekend break that so many of us take for granted. After spending a weekend away with other one-parent families, we see an increase in confidence and self-esteem among our parents. Parents are encouraged to keep up the friendships established on the weekend away thereby creating their own support network.
